September 14, 2014
10:30AM Sunday Mass
32.8 Miles

The beautiful, somewhat lavish setting notwithstanding, the Spirit of Christ Catholic Community Church turned out to be a "winner" and displaces St Daniel's (Ouray, Church # 17) as our new #1.

Today's celebrant was a 'sub' from Kerela and his Homily included a Kerelan story of a master and a disciple wannabe.  Good choice of story as it reinforced the Gospel (unfortunately, I'm currently drawing a blank as to what it was really all about ... sad testimony on how much I really pay attention at Church!)

Post Communion, the Pastor had quite a few announcements ... which seemed to speak very well of the spirit of community of the Parish.  He also asked birthday celebrants to come up while the choir burst out with the Happy Birthday song.

Throughout the Mass, there was not a single mention of anything that I picked up as doctrinaire or dogmatic.
